About the Museum:

La Maison Gabrielle-Roy is a cornerstone of cultural tourism in Manitoba allowing the public to discover a heritage site that celebrates the life and work Gabrielle Roy. Built in 1905, this house is a very important and recurring symbol in the work of the famous French-Canadian author. La Maison Gabrielle-Roy is the birthplace and first home of the award-winning Canadian author, novelist, and teacher, Gabrielle Roy.


La Maison Gabrielle-Roy est une pierre angulaire du tourisme culture! au Manitoba permettant au public de decouvrir un site patrimonial qui celebre la vie et l'ceuvre de Gabrielle Roy. Construite en 1905, la maison natale de cette celebre autrice canadienne-française est un symbole de grande importance qui apparait souvent dans son ceuvre. La maison a ete le lieu de naissance et le premier foyer de l'autrice primee, la romanciere et l'enseignante.

On Thursday 20 July join us for Gabrielle Roy’s chidlren’s story Ma vache Bossie (in French).

There will be a contest, games, music (Justin Lacroix), books and story time (Louise Hébert-Saindon).
