About the Museum:
Built in 1882, Daly House is a small Victorian mansion nestled in the heart of Brandon. Originally the home of two of Brandon’s prominent families (Dalys and Coldwells) – it is now the only pre-1900 structure remaining on 18th Street, a municipal heritage site, and a fine example of Italianate architecture. This unique museum with its antique furnishings and displays such as Mutter Brother’s Grocery store transports you back in time to the 19th century the second you step through the doors. The Museum is also the home of the Magnacca Research Centre, which contains documents, photographs, maps and other archival materials related to the history of Brandon, and South Western Manitoba.
Museum Events:
An Old Fashioned Radio Show & Dinner - June 15, 2023 at Ukrainian Reading Association Hall
A live dinner theatre fundraiser to support local history at Brandon’s only house museum, Daly House. The Museum has partnered with the Assiniboine Theatre Company to take you back to the days when voice actors and foley artists performed live dramas and comedies for radio audiences. Debra Mason and Loretta Hamilton will perform ELEVATOR. Debuting that night will be an original radio show CHESTER THE WONDER DOG AND THE EXTRATERRESTRIAL ALIENS FROM SPACE by George Baker. For more information or to purchase tickets, call the Museum at 204-727-1722 or visit our website.
