Travelling Exhibit - The Sky's the Limit:
19th Century Photography and Astronomy
of Dr. James Wadsworth
Simcoe's Renaissance Man
Greetings from the Norfolk Heritage Centre in Simcoe, Ontario. We are in the preliminary stages of developing a travelling exhibit titled, "The Sky's the Limit: 19th Century Photography and Astronomy of Dr. James Wadsworth---Simcoe's Renaissance Man". It will be based on Wadsworth's photographs and archival documents. Accompanying the exhibit will be museum artifacts, lesson plans and supplementary materials that tie the exhibit to the elementary and secondary school science curriculum, especially the strands of space, light and optics.
While much of the display will be historic in nature, it also ties in with man's prehistoric fascination with the night sky as well as with modern-day space travel. 19th Century photography is another subject matter.
Specific details as to size and full content have yet to be finalized. We do intend to incorporate reference materials for museum staff, publicity materials, posters, etc.
In the meantime this is an initial inquiry for feedback from interested parties who would be willing to rent such an exhibit for their facility. Would this travelling display be of interest to you and your audience?
If so, please contact us directly at marketing@norfolklore.com
There is no commitment of monies required from you at this time. We are simply looking to judge the level of interest from you, our peers.
