Description The Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum is the only museum solely dedicated to preserving the history of WWII air force training. Travel back sixty years as you wander through a hangar that is a national historic site. See the aircraft and vehicles that trained air force personnel from the Commonwealth. Witness the complexity of these aircraft first hand as volunteers work to restore rare training aircraft. Imagine the culture shock for young Canadians of the period, many from the rural locations, that in a years time of training would be dropping bombs over Germany.

Canada's British Commonwealth Air Training Plan was called by Winston Churchill "our greatest contribution to allied victory in WWII." At the height of the B.C.A.T.P. there were 231 training bases across this country and it was the largest infrastructure program in Canadian history. The C.A.T.P.M. pays tribute to this enormous undertaking and the 18,039 R.C.A.F. personnel who lost their lives while serving during the second world war.

The museum is open seven days a week, please check out Westman's very own National Historic Site.
